KALPATARU [कल्पतरु]
Change begins at home”
Enactus VIPS embarked on one of its earliest endeavors which aimed at cultivating a non-toxic atmosphere through the reduction of carbon dioxide levels in the air we breathe indoors.
The adverse effects of pollution include mudslides, the contamination of soils and rivers, and the loss of plant and animal life. Additionally, pollution poses a significant threat to human health, with an estimated annual death toll of seven million people attributed to air pollution. Consequently, our project's main objective revolved around advocating for the installation of indoor air-purifying plants in homes. We offered these plants in uniquely crafted pots, handwoven and painted by underprivileged young children, as part of our efforts to combat pollution and create employment opportunities.
Through this project, a variety of unique and low-maintenance pots contributed to cleaner air inside homes along with providing several other benefits. Additionally, the proceeds from the project uplifted young underprivileged children financially, and helped them develop attributes of skillfulness and creativity.
